We rarely wear "I'm here and I love it" t-shirts. In other words, when was the last time you saw an Alabama resident wearing an Alabama t-shirt in Alabama? Far more common would be an Alabama dweller sporting a t-shirt featuring New York City. Beach dwellers have t-shirts of the mountains.At the Thin Air Summit conference, I saw a neighbor's computer desktop with a photo of her daughter on the beach. It was a great reminder of a fun family vacation. We'd prefer to look at those memories, rather than at what's outside our window, no matter how beautiful that view might be.

Aww... I should tell you that I always have some picture of my daughter on my laptop - the one before this was actually at home! And the one before that, skiing up at Vail.
For me - the reason I have her on there is the same reason my husband has her picture all over his desk at work - it's a reminder of why we do the things we do - even when they're not what we would want to be doing! :)
Still... now I'm pondering your post! (No, I never wear Colorado shirts - but I do happen to be wearing my Thin Air Summit shirt right this minute! :)
