Quiet (bad) changes

United quietly stole away my air miles. I was almost at the point where I would get a free flight, after maybe 10 years of patiently saving miles.

They changed their policy - they are no longer letting the air miles last forever. Which means I will never get a free flight.

No idea. I have been too lazy to look into that. I just know that I'll never reach 25,000 miles now, unless they change it back to "never expire".

They shouldn't be allowed to do that!

That's too bad. I'm surprised they didn't sign on to be partners with another frequent flyer mile program.

Other changes that are coming from United and US Air, at least according to our travel department:

1. "Free" checked baggage allowance -- 1 (yes, one) piece at 23 kg

2. 2nd piece at a fee and no additional excess baggage.

Traveling to live overseas is going to get harder and more expensive.
