Back when we made the Thanksgiving trip to Texas, we visited Ikea. We only bought my office chair, one small furniture piece - and the deal of the century (well, not quite) - these glass tea candle holders. They were only 29c each!!
They were in the classic impulse buying position - next to the checkout stand. And there was a long line, so we had lots of time to agonize over that extra $1.16 (plus tax) that we were to spend.

When I was out in CAL. for Thanksgiving my one request was to visit Ikea. I had to borrow a duffel bag from my mom to bring back my loot - duvet cover, christmas candle holder, creamer pitcher, measuring cups/spoons, throw rug! Have you checked out their clearance/as is section. Great finds there! And of course we ate lunch in the restaurant. Only time I get swedish meatballs.
ah... ikea. we've got many of those candle holders and half a 100pk bag of candles (it was only an extra $1).
One of the worlds greatest mysteries: what is ikea's thing with rats? Over time i've seen a few different plush rats for sale in the kids section and swedish rat candy (like swedish fish... only shaped like rats) in their food section.
I love IKEA!!!
Wishing you and your family a Happy & Merry Christmas and New Year; and should you travel, be safe!

Very disciplined of you!
I think one of the aims of Ikea is that you come away with far more than you went there for.
